Dear friends,
Today I invite you to join me in a worthy cause. The Resorts World on Sentosa, Singapore has the intention to import whale sharks for the sake of attracting and entertaining visitors.
"Whale sharks are vulnerable to extinction and have never done well in captivity. They can grow as large as two city buses, migrate thousands of kilometers in the wild, and live up to a hundred years. It is just plain cruel to keep them in glass cages." Think about all the wrong messages we are passing on to the younger generations should it become acceptable that wildlife be used as a source of entertainment.
Several non-profit organizations, local and international, have stepped forth to launch a campaign against the proposed import of whale sharks and
they need our support.
Therefore, I implore that you take a little time out of your busy schedule to sign the peitition at
[link]. There you can submit a letter to the Minister of National Development, the Singapore Tourism Board and Resorts World at Sentosa to voice against this cruel act.
As Mahatma Gandhi once said, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world". You have the power to help prevent this tragedy from happening and it is only a click away.
Wherever you are, if you can spread the words, it would be much appreciated. This cause needs all the help it can get.
I sincerely thank you in advance.
Warmest Regards,
Mandy Wu.
